The Team

Meet the Angels. Making up our essential team are:

Tom Young, Master Glassblower at Angels' Share Glass

Tom Young - Master Glassblower

Tom Young MBE has been glassblowing since he was a teenager. Tom worked throughout industrial and chemical glass laboratories until his creative side took over and he made designs in glass using a bench flame torch.  His commissions include glass pieces for high profile figures and companies all over the world. Tom made the glass element of the Johnnie Walker Golf trophy and almost every spirit bowl in every Scottish distillery. Now, almost 60 years on, and a Master Glassblower and MBE for services to the glass industry, he still creates wonderful designs and glassware in the heart of central Scotland for a worldwide market.

Favourite product: "The Water Spirit /Kelpie Whisky Water Dropper because the creativity used and challenge it set was one of my proudest Angels' Share products that we developed."

Helen is a friend of the family and started in an administration role with Angels’ Share Glass but has grown with the company and now handles customer service and dispatch too. Helen loves the happy working environment in the office and also has a good eye for quality control, whilst carefully packing all the orders.

Bee Hardy - Glassblower

Bee graduated from Sunderland Glass Centre with a glass art degree and was a contestant on a recent Channel 4 crafts programme hosted by Monty Don. Bee’s artistic flair and interest in commercial glassmaking is making her training relatively easy for tutor Tom.

Favourite product: "The Thistle Stirrer because of the colours which are just pure Scotland and it was the first product I mastered."

Eileen Shultz - Finance

Eileen Schultz - Finance

Eileen Schultz, the firm’s part-time accounts assistant, also works school hours to fit in with the needs of her three young children.

She says: “It’s great to work within the school day and to know everyone in the office is in the same boat so understands what can happen with kids. A boss who is also a mother gets this which is brilliant.

“There’s also a real team spirit where people are consulted and their opinions are valued.

“We bounce ideas off each other and I’m asked about things that have nothing to do with keeping the books! It’s good to feel so involved in the business.”

Rachel Blackburn

Rachel Blackburn - PR

Rachel is a freelance PR specialist whose locality and familiarity with the family and company is ideal for her promotion of the firm, its staff and products via newspapers, magazines and relevant websites.

Favourite product: "The whisky angel for its elegance in design and uniqueness closely followed by the lovely bottle neck candle holder because it's so unusual."
