Each year on the 25th January, people in Scotland and around the world hold Burns’ Night celebrations to mark the birthday of our nation’s most famous and beloved poet, Robert ‘Rabbie’ Burns (1759-1796). Throughout his short life, he penned an incredible number of works, the most famous of which is Auld Lang Syne. This iconic poem is well-known across the globe as the song of choice for welcoming in the New Year.

Burns Suppers were first introduced by the Bard’s friends in 1801 as a way to pay tribute to his life and work. They are typically jam-packed events, ranging from large-scale formal celebrations to small, casual gatherings in pubs, restaurants and at home with close friends and family. Whatever their size or format, these gastro-literary affairs are tremendous fun and generally consist of haggis with nips and tatties eating, whisky drinking, ceilidh dancing, poetry and song recitals from Burns’ extensive repertoire, sprigs of heather, and - naturally - men in kilts.

Even those who are not a fan of the poet’s work get involved in the celebrations because it’s a great excuse for a shindig and a dram or two. Our exclusive Angels’ Nectar Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a beautiful, smooth dram with a slightly sweet flavour, which is a perfect drink for Burns Night or as a thoughtful gift to your Burns Supper host.

A wee hot toddy is also a firm favourite for those who are not accustomed to neat whisky but wish to mark the occasion nevertheless with a traditional, soul-warming libation. This drink comprises quite a few ingredients, so you may find our Hot Toddy Mix a convenient addition for your celebrations.

Only a few of our Limited Edition Rosebank Angels are left, but they would be a perfectly unique gift idea for a whisky connoisseur.

The perfect sup at a Burns Supper would be a quaich: traditionally fashioned from oak, it has been known to have been turned using whisky barrel staves. They then became more commonly found popular in silver.

We have taken a moulded glass quaich and enhanced it with the attributes of whisky and our own brand stamp.

For something a little bit different and unique, our handmade glass Whisky Angels and Burns-inspired ‘Ae Fond Kiss’ whisky and angel set make the most wonderful gifts for your Burns Night host - or even as a lovely present to yourself to mark this important day in Scotland’s national calendar.

Another perfect gift idea (to your host or yourself, why not?) is our branded Glencairn Whisky Glasses complete with Angel, Pot Still or Thistle lid. If you like to keep those aromas in the glass until your nose is ready for them then this is the set for you.
