This week, to celebrate St Andrew's Day we're launching our lovely limited edition Aberlour Angel, filled with the Angels' Share of a unique malt - Aberlour A'bunadh batch 60.
You'll have to be quick to catch these stunning creations as we've only made 25 and they're ready to fly off the shelves.
The Angel's exclusive design, featuring lilac wings and a sparkling Swarovski snowflake, has been inspired by the upcoming festive season. Director Karen Somerville said: "A'bunadh was the first whisky I ever tasted and fell in love with, what better way to celebrate that with an exceptionally festive design"
With each batch carefully made by hand, Aberlour A’bunadh is a unique cask strength whisky that has achieved cult status among whisky connoisseurs.
Meaning ‘the original’ in Gaelic, A’bunadh is made in homage to Aberlour’s founder, James Fleming, using only traditional methods without chill filtration or other modern processes. It's matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and the result is a heavier, creamier single malt than most have ever experienced – memorably flavoursome, with an intense raisin character. The 25ml of whisky which fills our handmade Aberlour Angel is from Batch 60 and is a 60.3% malt. With the high ABV our secret method of sealing in the whisky is a little bit trickier.
Jonathan Osbaldiston of the Aberlour Distillery told us he is delighted with how the Angels have turned out.
Each of the Aberlour Whisky Angels is individually numbered on the base, comes with a card of authentication and is presented in a beautiful red gift box.
