It's not every day you come face to face with a dragon!

That's exactly what happened when Karen and Jen met up with Theo Paphitis, the retail magnate and entrepreneur best known for his appearances on the BBC show Dragons' Den.

Taking place at the NEC Birmingham, Autumn Fair is one of the largest destinations for UK and international buyers to source home and gift retail products. Angels' Share Glass was one of just twelve companies to have won much sought after exhibitor space as part of Theo's Small Business Sunday initiative.

This proved to be the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our award-winning droppers to Theo! By showing how just a couple of drops of water can really open up the flavours in a dram of whisky, Theo put it to the taste test!

As well as our Droppers, Theo was impressed by our innovative (or should that be ginnovative?!) Gin Pigs along with our whisky filled Angels and Baubles.

Huge thanks to Theo for giving us this fantastic chance to showcase our unique handmade glassware!

The team also couldn't wait to meet another retail legend - Mary Portas!

Karen joined in an insightful discussion led by Mary outlining how we all have a part to play in making the world of work a better place. The title of Mary's latest book - Work Like A Woman - resonates well with the (nearly all-female!) Angels' Share Glass team.

Despite particularly awful weather driving to Birmingham on Saturday - the windscreen wipers were on super fast mode for most of the way there - thankfully the return journey was much better.  Having met a number of potential new buyers, Karen and Jen returned to the office on Thursday feeling inspired and ready to bring on the Christmas orders.

Baubles anyone?
