Scotch Whisky Advent calendar - Day two

Wemyss Malts – The Barrista’s Dram

Nose: Thick and rich with toasted marshmallows, gingerbread, “calissons d’Aix” (never forget the French foodie reference!), ripe orchard fruits, banana, dark chocolate, maple syrup and marzipan. The Barista may have had a former career as a pastry cook… Definitely a nose full of greedy pleasures!

Palate: Sweet and chewy with oaky and leathery notes. Also some pleasant dried fruits, coffee grounds, sweet spices and apricots. Sweet on the palate like a warm gentle spring breeze caressing your face after the cold winter months.

Finish: Mellow and elegant but still plenty of character like a Scottish gentleman!

Recommended Food Pairing : Banana pancakes

From December- Anne-Sophie will open her Advent Calendar, taste her dram and then publish her tasting notes and thoughts on each of the whiskies on the Angels’ Share Glass blog.

She’ll also be posting photos on Instagram - www.instagram.com/thewhiskylady - for those who want to take a closer look at the surprise dram every morning.

There are 25 miniatures for Anne-Sophie to taste - each one from independent bottlers and many at cask strength – with an extra special whisky for Christmas Day.
