Dec 11 – Kiln Embers – Wemyss Malts

Nose : I may be a bit biased here – I actually awarded this dram last year in my « whisky awards 2015 » so obviously… I really like it. The nose delivers a perfect balance between sweet aromas & rich peat smoke with hints of tangerines, maple syrup, roasted pork (yep…), burnt caramel and toasted nuts.

Palate : Its name speaks for itself – and if you already like Wemyss Peat Chimney, then trust me, you’ll be in for a treat with this one ! All the aromas present in the nose still show, in an even more intense way but this expression always remain deliciously smooth and balanced with a great complexity…. A killer !

Finish : lingering with wood spices, peat and citrusy notes.

Food Pairing : mature comté
