A.D Rattray – Ledaig 9yo (57.9%)

Nose : elegant and coastal with some citrusy notes of tangerines, also herbal honey, toasted marshmallows and apple crumble all wrapped up in a sweet peaty cloud.

Palate : A gentle peat storm first hit the palate with masses of burn salted caramel, dried apricots, heather & other herbal aromas. This Ledaig knows how to remind me of its insular origin with those briny notes.

A much needed punch in the face to start a new week on this Monday morning :D

Finish : lingering with smoky and briny notes.

Recommended Food Pairing : salmon tartare

Whisky Advent Calendar - Day Five

From December -Anne-Sophie will open her Advent Calendar, taste her dram and then publish her tasting notes and thoughts on each of the whiskies on the Angels’ Share Glass blog.

She’ll also be posting photos on Instagram - www.instagram.com/thewhiskylady - for those who want to take a closer look at the surprise dram every morning.

There are 25 miniatures for Anne-Sophie to taste - each one from independent bottlers and many at cask strength – with an extra special whisky for Christmas Day.
