Over the last couple of months we have been getting schooled on all thing Whisky. Our intensive Whisky education course was attended by all our Angels.
The course was set over three full days (one day a month) and was led by 'Master of Malt' John Lamond. We learned about the birth of Scotch Whisky, grain whisky, the marketing behind whisky, whisky production and of course the invaluable (numerous) Whisky tastings.
During the course and in particular the tasting session, Helen, one of our non whisky lovers, was guided by John to a whisky that she just might like. With great reluctance she reached forward to grip the tasting glass and began nosing, low and behold took a taste, LOVED IT... amazing, another convert! Just goes to show there is a whisky out there for everyone.
Another highlight of our course was when Jen (Sales Manager) correctly guessed the whisky during one of our blind tasting sessions, she was utterly flabbergasted.
At the end of the three days and with a barrage of new found knowledge we were all a little (a lot) apprehensive about the final exam, which took place on Tuesday. We all took a deep breath, relaxed and entered our exam room, and after a tense hour it was all over.
I have great pleasure in sharing the news that we all passed, we all now have our Whisky wings.
John provided a fabulous tailored whisky education for all the Angels and we are now a little wiser about our famous national drink.
