With the nations interest soaring for everything gin, we at Angels' Share Glass are set to capitalise on this by producing the world's first ever hybrid spirit including gin.
We have secured vast quantities of quality six year old Speyside single malt whisky. We have carefully married this tasty whisky with several hundred litres of Scottish gin in Scots pine casks for a further three and half months, ensuring all the flavours are harmonious.
After weeks of deliberation between all the staff at Angels' Share Glass it was Tom Young MBE who had the eureka moment and named the hybrid WHIGIN...
Whigin has been bottled at cask strength, 58.3% vol and is a delightful golden straw colour. See full tasting notes below:
nose: mild wooded fragrance, spring meadows, hint of pine needles and nettles
taste: fruity and stingy, a wee bit jaggy, warm sugary mouth feel
finish: short, sharp finish, ouch!
The bottle will go on sale tomorrow morning on the Angels' Share Glass website for £29.99 - there are only 250 bottles available of batch 1, all bottles are numbered and hand labelled.
