Campbeltown Malts Festival, now in its tenth year was busier than ever as many whisky travellers took full advantage of the unseasonal tropical weather.

We made the three and a half hour car journey to the Whisky peninsula, Campbeltown, to showcase our master skill of glass blowing, accompanied by a few drams of course.  We set up in the new Springbank shop, where Tom Young entertained many festival-goers with his skill and precision.  Tom also invited a few unsuspecting volunteers to come on up and give it a go.  "It's not as easy as it looks," he remarked.  Tom made a hanging angel during the demonstration which went on to be our best seller of the festival.

Open Day Bottlings

After our demonstration we had time to enjoy the rest of the day, visiting the world famous Springbank Whisky bar where all drams are a £1, sample a few tasty Fyne Ales and also purchase this year's festival bottlings. Springbank 21yo (£250) Hazelburn 10yo (£60) and Longrow 13yo (£60).  There was live music provided by the local pipe band and fresh food available all day in the Springbank courtyard, truly was a perfect day.

and believe it or not... the next day we did it all again, only this time at Glengyle, home of Kelkerran Single Malt Whisky, the newest addition to the Campbeltown scotch region.

Glass Blowing Demonstration

Friday evening signified the end of the three-day whisky festival, the whisky revellers that were left made their way to the town hall where we enjoyed the closing dinner, a few more drams and some live local music.

Angels Share Glass

Last week in Campbeltown we sizzled in the glorious sunshine, Kintyre certainly pulled out all the stops and looked radiant.
