The Scotch Whisky Advent Calendar - Door Number 25!

Each day in December until Christmas Day we are opening a door on The Scotch Whisky Advent Calendar and posting our tasting notes on our blog.

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you were all good boys and girls and that Santa has been good to you!

We just have one whisky left to drink from our advent calendar, on this special day, and it's the oldest one in the calendar: 1984 Linkwood 30yo! This one comes from Samaroli and is at 45%.

On the nose there's plenty of cereals, linseed, floral soap, vanilla and a hint of citrus zest.

On the palate it's creamy and zesty. Lemon and vanilla sorbet. Some oak comes through.

The finish is sweet and creamy too. Loads of vanilla ice cream and oak.

That was a delicious Christmas treat. All good things must come to and end and we've certainly finished on a high note. We've had a great variety of whiskies from all over Scotland the past 25 days showing some of the great drams that independent bottlers are bringing to us. Can't wait for next December already!
